Joint industry call for a risk-based AI Act that truly foster innovation

SAPIE joined EU industry associations - representing developers, deployers and users of AI - who signed a joint statement targeting the regulation of AI in the EU.

While supporting the AI Act's overarching objectives and promoting trust and innovation in AI, safe and responsible development, deployment and use of AI, we are concerned that some of the proposed measures would counter the objectives of the regulation or the introduction of vague concepts or the broad extension of the list of high-risk use cases and the list of prohibited AI systems, would create unnecessary red tape and legal uncertainty.

The EU has a unique opportunity to define sensible rules for the development, deployment, and use of AI for the next decade, and to set a strong example for the world on how to best regulate AI. Read our recommendations and the full version of our joint statement.
