CEE Innovation Day in Warsaw
On 12th December 2023, our colleagues Lucia and Michal attended the CEE Innovation Day in Warsaw. The event was organized by Digital Poland Association and Meta.
During the panels, the speakers talked about open source AI models, their contribution to the development of the startup ecosystem, but also about challenges and opportunities that AI brings to businesses and society.
Additional part of the event was focused on the metaverse opportunities for the CEE region, metaverse potential for business and cities, or how to streamline metaverse education through the XR and VR projects. We are very proud that one of our member companies, Virtual Medicine, was mentioned several times as a great example on how to use these technologies for the greater good and for education.
Lastly, the third big topic which was included in the agenda was focusing on the regulations and digital policies. Speakers agreed that instead of dozens of new regulations, the legislators should bring a lot less, which support businesses and innovations. Speakers also mentioned that they would like to see the EU as a pioneer in implementation of regulations in sectors such as health. The CEE region has a specific situation, it is open-minded for new technologies and should be a leader in the implementation as well. The expectations from the new European parliament and European Commission were clearly noted - to be open to new projects, new partnerships, global partnerships, and to be pro-innovation and pro-business oriented. THe speakers also described 5 areas to focus: smart regulation; competitiveness based on innovation; education; cooperation and investment in innovation.
